For Ghina Itani, designing is more than concepts and details, it’s an art form that expresses her talent and represents the artistic nature of her clients. As the owner/principal designer of Itani Design Concepts (IDC), Ghina works closely with her clients, the projects’ architects, builders and engineers from the inception of a project to completion, and often becomes an integral part of the ongoing space evolution.
Her specialty is Healthcare Interior Design, as evident in her established hospital and medical office building spaces. Her talents in this field led her to acquiring credentials by the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID). She also completed her credentials by obtaining the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) certification. Ghina’s work with healthcare professionals showed her the value of “best practice” and “evidence-based” principles, which also led her to obtain the Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC).
“Great interiors are born from combining function, form and beauty.” – Ghina
Her design background started soon after completing the interior design program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Ghina started her first job in commercial flooring. I brought Ghina on board to modify some of the design elements so that they are more conducive to the healing environment I seek for my hospital, our patients and staff. Additionally, Ghina has completed preliminary designs in the administrative wing and in the patient and staff lounges in the existing building. I appreciate her commitment to quality and sensitivity to budget constraints. She has a very strong work ethic and produces quality design with the budget she is provided.
-Martha Samora, Chief Executive Officer, HealthSouth Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital – 2015
“The addition of Ghina to our building design efforts transformed our construction project from a regular office into a building that we are truly proud of. Ghina has a firm understanding of all aspects of the construction process, from design and permitting through construction and furnishing. She has an eye for tying a design together with subtle and bold features, all while coordinating with different stakeholders to make sure their specific goals are exceeded. She has been wonderful to work with, and we are excited to bring her on-board again for our next project.”
